As a Business Development Officer at SMAT Marketing Limited, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of our customer base, increasing customer value among existing clients, and identifying new market opportunities. Your primary focus will be on generating new leads, nurturing relationships, and collaborating with various teams to achieve revenue and market share targets.


1. New Customer Acquisition:

  • Research and identify potential clients and markets to develop a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Cold call, email, and engage in networking activities to introduce SMAT Marketing’s products/services and establish initial contact with potential clients.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand prospective clients’ requirements and tailor solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations and proposals to showcase the value proposition of SMAT Marketing’s offerings.

2. Customer Value Growth:

  • Collaborate closely with the Account Management team to analyze existing customer accounts and identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and value enhancement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to deepen client relationships, increase customer loyalty, and promote customer retention.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with existing clients to assess their satisfaction levels, address concerns, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.

3. Market Expansion:

  • Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to identify emerging opportunities and gaps in the market.
  • Research and assess new markets, industries, or segments that align with SMAT Marketing’s capabilities and offerings.
  • Develop market entry strategies, including market analysis, targeting, positioning, and pricing recommendations.

4. Relationship Building:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within prospective and existing client organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, marketing, product development, etc.) to ensure alignment of strategies and seamless execution of business development initiatives.
  • Represent SMAT Marketing at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to establish the company’s presence and network with potential clients.

5. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Keep detailed records of business development activities, client interactions, and progress towards targets using CRM tools or other relevant software.
  • Generate regular reports on business development metrics, such as lead generation, conversion rates, and revenue growth.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and actionable insights to refine business development strategies.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably in a B2B environment.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, sales techniques, and customer relationship management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present ideas persuasively and negotiate effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve and exceed targets and goals.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to meet clients or attend industry events.
